The Ontario government is poised to open summer day camps in July and August if COVID-19 numbers trend in a favourable direction.
However, Premier Doug Ford says not all camps will be able to open.
“Overnight camps will remain closed. Unfortunately we just can’t have camps with 500 kids living together right now. I know this will be tough for many kids who look forward to their overnight camps.”
Ford says day camps, both indoor and outdoor, will have to follow strict guidelines that will be developed with local health units, the Ministry of Labour and municipalities.
