It appears Ontario is gradually seeing fewer new COVID-19 cases.
There were 304 cases confirmed in this morning’s update, which is the lowest increase in a week and the second lowest since the end of March. Around three-quarters of all people diagnosed with COVID-19 in the province have recovered.
Premier Doug Ford indicated last week he believes health trends have been improving, and tomorrow the province will allow seasonal businesses, animal services, and some retail stores to open again. A statement from the province adds we can expect an update on school closures this week as well.
However, officials are still asking you to follow public health measures like physical distancing or covering your mouth and nose when physical distancing is difficult or not possible, regular handwashing, and staying home if you feel sick.
The Ontario NDP counter that the Ford government should increase testing and tracking COVID-19 cases to make re-opening safer.
