A Restricted Fire Zone is being lifted across Ontario Saturday morning at 12:01.
Outdoor burning will be allowed over the May long weekend but extreme caution is urged.
The province says it will continue to assess forest fire hazard conditions and a Restricted Fire Zone designation may be reinstated in high risk areas.
To help stop the spread of COVID-19 fire rangers will be required to follow the health and safety guidelines recommended by the Chief Medical Officer of Health, such as physical distancing, frequent hand washing, and daily self-assessments by staff.
The Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry says lifting the RFZ doesn’t mean we can let our guard down when it comes to preventing human-caused forest fires.
