As we come up to the end of National Nursing Week, CKDR News continues to highlight the hard work our nurses do across the region.
Jennifer Millard is a Registered Nurse and a Certified Respiratory Educator who has been working at the Dryden Regional Health Centre since 2012.
Millard says “Favourite part of the job is being able to help people and make them feel better and help them to live a better life.”
She notes there is a lot more to nursing than some people may think.
“I think there is a misconception that nursing is strictly at the bedside, which of course is a big part of nursing, but nursing has many different roles within the profession itself.”
Millard adds there are a lot of diverse job opportunities that come with the profession.
“Changed my job within nursing as my life has needed the changes to happen. I travelled for three years as a nurse. I’ve worked in the emergency department. I’ve worked on the floor. I’ve worked in mental health.”
