This is National Nursing Week and CKDR continues to recognize the work of regional nurses.
Chantal Wisneski has been a registered nurse since 1991 and she works with the North West Local Health Integration Network as a Community Care Coordinator.
Wisneski says she went to school for nursing in Quebec.
“That was the most interesting program they offered. So I took that thinking once I got through that program I would figure out what I really wanted to do when I grew up. I was lucky enough that six weeks in I realized that I had found the right career path and I stuck with it.”
Wisneski says “The beautiful thing about nursing is that you can work with people but your job can change as often as you want it to.”
She adds people who are interested in nursing should go for it as she says it is a wonderful profession with plenty of opportunity.
