Ontario’s Education Minister says he understands that parents and educators want and deserve to know what will happen to the remainder of the school year.
Stephen Lecce says he can confirm by early next week the plan will be communicated to the public.
“We will let you know both the decision for June as well as the intention to scale up in a significant way our learning program for the summer to keep our kids engaged in the curriculum and to mitigate any learning loss,” Lecce said.
The education minister says he’s been working with health experts to come up with a plan for students who may or may not return to classrooms this summer.
Premier Ford has said in the past that school wouldn’t resume in-person before May 31st.
