You shouldn’t expect to see the Canadian Forces Snowbirds fly over Sunset Country Tuesday, or at any other point in the near future.
The Royal Canadian Air Force demonstration team is currently flying from coast to coast to help lift the spirits of Canadians as we work through COVID-19 with what they’re calling “Operation Inspiration.”
The jets made their way to northern Ontario Monday, with flypasts of both Sault Ste Marie and Thunder Bay before making their way to Winnipeg.
The Snowbirds are scheduled to take off from Winnipeg at 9:30 Tuesday morning and making their way across Manitoba before finishing their day in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan.
Operation Inspiration began on May 3rd when the show squadron performed aerial routines for Nova Scotia and New Brunswick.
All other Canadian Snowbird demonstrations have been cancelled this Spring and Summer due to the pandemic.
You will be able to go to Fort Frances for a similar fly-by.
Two F-16’s will be flying over International Falls between 11:10 and 11:25 Wednesday morning.
They are aircraft based out of the Minnesota National Guard’s 148th Fighter Wing out of Duluth.
The flights are part of the National Guard’s tribute to those working on the frontlines of the coronavirus pandemic.
