A 41-year-old man faces a number of drug and firearms charges after Provincial Police carried out a search warrant at the Nugget Motel in Fort Frances last night.
The multi-agency bust uncovered a prohibited .380 calibre Taurus TCP handgun along other prohibited weapons including a butterfly knife, throwing star, and brass knuckles.
The OPP also seized fentanyl and heroin and an unknown amount of Canadian currency.
Police note the accused was already facing criminal and drug charges relating to the possession of firearms and drug trafficking within the Rainy River District from an investigation completed in 2017.
As part of his bail arrangement in that case, the man wasn’t supposed to be in possession of weapons, firearms, drugs or illegal substances.
The charges from that investigation are still before the courts.
OPP say Robert Gouliquer of Fort Frances now faces an additional 11 charges.
