More light at the end of the tunnel in COVID-19 recovery plans in Ontario.
The province is allowing Garden Centres and Nurseries to fully reopen on Friday morning, while Hardware Stores and Safety Supply stores will be able to allow in-store customers on Saturday.
All non-essential businesses and retail stores with a street entrance will be able to open next Monday for curbside pick-up and delivery.
Premier Doug Ford says he’s also opening the door to more construction including condos and apartments.
Ford says strict health standards will have to be met.
He says that includes physical distancing, contactless payment options and sanitizing surfaces.
Ford adds “As the trends improve, we can move forward with reopening more and more of our economy and getting people back to work.”
No timeline has been provided.
We are moving ahead on the path to reopen Ontario’s economy.
