A new Ontario relief program to help vulnerable families during COVID-19 is now open for applications.
The Kenora District Services Board is seeking proposals for the food security initiative dedicated to individuals and families in the area struggling to keep healthy, nutritious food on the table.
Projects that demonstrate community coordination with more than one partner will be given priority.
Chief Administrative Officer Henry Wall says “The inequities that our communities face is being amplified by the financial impacts of this Pandemic. If households do not have an adequate income currently, it becomes challenging to achieve an optimal level of food security. Through the Social Services Relief Fund, we are working with the Government of Ontario to ensure that community organizations can assist families and individuals, so they do not need to worry where their next meal will come from.”
Wall says there is no deadline to apply and applications will be reviewed daily.
