Local residents are asked to “Shine a Light for All They Do” today (Friday) in a province-wide show of appreciation on Doctors’ Day.
You are asked to shine a flashlight or phone light at 9:00pm and post your pictures on social media.
The campaign is being organized by the Ontario Medical Association as a way for all of us to recognize doctors for their bravery and dedication.
President of the Ontario Medical Association Dr. Sohail Gandhi says the support is even more important during the COVID-19 pandemic.
“Physicians have been working extra long hours in the hospital or in their offices and trying to maintain stable practices.”
Dr. Gandhi adds some doctors have even had to isolate from their families to ensure they are safe.
You can participate by posting your appreciation to social media using the hashtags #DoctorsDay and #ShineALightForThem

OMA Chief Executive Officer Allan O’Dette says Ontario’s doctors are with us through some of the most important times of our lives. Right now, they are selflessly serving our family, friends and neighbours on the frontlines of COVID-19.”
