As the province continues to work on bringing back elective surgeries, the health minister says cardiac and cancer-related ones could be the first to return.
Christine Elliott says orthopedic surgeries could also be on that list.
“There are people that are having difficulty walking that knee or hip replacements, but yes, we are putting a process in place to start offering elective surgeries as soon as possible,” Elliott said.
The Health Minister expects there will be a backlog of elective surgeries once the pandemic passes and vows the province will help to clear that waiting list.
