EACOM Timber is giving more than half of their mask supply to health organizations across Northern Ontario and that includes the Ear Falls Ambulance Station.
First responders in the community are getting 750 KN95 masks to help in the battle against COVID-19.
EACOM Vice President of Human Resources Eric LaRouche says “Medical and first responder communities are facing shortages. It’s our privilege to share what supplies we can, all while ensuring our employees are properly protected.”
LaRouche stresses he hopes this will help in some small measure in the battle against the coronavirus.
In terms of operations at the Ear Falls mill, he notes the pandemic hasn’t affected things too much.
LaRouche says they had a few employees quarantined after travelling at the beginning of the pandemic, but things are running smoothly and safely now.
He says they are still keeping up safe practices at the facility to protect all employees.
