The community has come together to help recognize Patient Experience Week.
A Youtube video has been posted by the Dryden Regional Health Centre with words of support for all nurses, paramedics, frontline workers, physicians, hospital staff and volunteers.
The awareness week is a time for the hospital and the public to honour the people who impact patient experience every day, especially now during COVID-19.
Garry Bates says “Thank you to all the hospital staff and especially the nurses and doctors on the frontline. You are truly the modern day super heroes.”
CKDR Morning Host Richard McCarthy says “I want to take a moment to thank all those throughout healthcare who are putting on masks, unfortunately having to deal with COVID-19 and other situations. We thank you for your outstanding support and again thank you for what you do every day to keep us healthy, to keep the world moving ahead as well.”
Jenn Northcott says “We want to thank everybody for the patient care that they give to all of us in Dryden. We are so lucky to have you here. Thank you so much for all you do for us.”
Dryden Mayor Greg Wilson is passing along his appreciation on behalf of Council.
Wilson says frontline staff, paramedics and everyone at the hospital have been instrumental in keeping our community safe during the pandemic but throughout the entire year as well.
“Your willingness to put yourselves at greater risk of exposure during the pandemic is truly putting your money where your mouth is. We are very fortunate to have so many trained, educated and experienced staff up on the hill. So far Dryden has mainly dodged a bullet but it’s encouraging to know that you are there for us.”
Wilson adds “Over the decades you’ve always displayed to the public a culture of positive teamwork. Not just during this crisis but on a regular basis.”
