Premier Doug Ford is standing by his decision to keep schools closed until May 31st due to the COVID-19 outbreak
“We don’t want to put our kids at risk. That’s really what it comes down to. I’m not going to put our children in the classroom, a crowded classroom, I’m just not going to do it.”
Ford’s comments come after Quebec’s Premier decided to open schools starting on May 11th.
Class sizes in that province will be limited to 15 to allow for physical distancing.
Ford stresses we have to protect our children at all costs and the government will make the decision to reopen schools at the end of the month.
