Ravens pride is alive and well at Red Lake Madsen Public School despite COVID-19 school shutdowns.
Principal Debra Geary says they have found a way to have some fun and stay connected with their students through physical distancing.
“We thought that our students needed to get up and move and they need to see us. They haven’t seen us in quite some time. So I had asked staff if they could record a 20 second clip of them moving and than we had one of our staff members put it all together in a video.”
Geary says it was also a great way to keep staff physically and mentally healthy.
She says the response from students, families and members of the public has been outstanding.
Geary says they continue to try and find new and innovative ways to remain connected with their students
She notes a lot of young kids don’t understand what the pandemic is all about and fear they won’t see their teachers again.
