Northwestern Ontario has its first COVID-19 related death.
The Thunder Bay District Health Unit says the deceased is a man in his 50’s, with underlying health conditions.
He passed away last night at the Thunder Bay Regional Hospital due to complications from the virus.
Out of respect for the family of this individual, no further details will be shared at this time.
Medical Officer of Health Janet DeMille says it’s a sad day and they send their condolences to the family and friends of the man who passed away.
