Provincial Police in Red Lake are reporting a fatal collision in Madsen.
Police say a vehicle left the road on Mine Street and came to a rest on the frozen body of water near the road.
Police then say when they arrived they found a deceased woman at the scene and Northwest Emergency Medical Services and the Red Lake Fire Department attended to provide assistance.
OPP say the cause of the collision is under investigation and the identity of the deceased is being withheld until the next-of-kin have been notified.
Police are also asking anyone who may have seen the collision or has information about it to contact them at 1-888-310-1122.
