Confederation College says the switch to online and alternate learning has gone very well considering they had little time to prepare.
Campuses across the region were shuttered in late March due to COVID-19.
President Kathleen Lynch says “I think our faculty have embraced this as best they can and done what they can to support our students.”
Lynch notes teachers were pro-active at the start to research new, creative and engaging ideas to help students succeed.
She says “We’ve been aware of a few issues that students have experienced but a majority of students have coped well.”
Lynch says the biggest challenge at the start was ensuring students had the necessary technology.
She says the school was able to loan over 100 laptops to students in need as well as address some connectivity issues.
Lynch adds they are trying to keep in touch as best they can and will immediately reach out if any student is experiencing difficulty.
