Dryden’s Community Emergency Management Coordinator says the City has the tools and people needed to respond to any emergency.
Rob Grimwood addressed members of Dryden Rotary Wednesday during a virtual meeting.
Grimwood says he has all of the training and provincial certification needed to do the job.
The Fire Chief stated there are two secondary people in that position being Kent Readman and Liz Godin.
Every community is required by the province to have a Community Emergency Management Coordinator.
Grimwood adds “The municipality has to have an Emergency Management Program committee. This is a committee that’s comprised of senior staff and council representatives. They meet at least quarterly and they guide and coordinate the entire municipal emergency management program.”
He notes Emergency Preparedness Week is coming up on May 3rd to 9th.
“Over the next few weeks start promoting emergency preparedness in the creation of a 72 hour kit and plans for people to be prepared in the event of an emergency.”
