The reality of the economic situation resulting from COVID-19 shutdowns is starting to hit Dryden.
Food Bank Manager Al Huckabay says their numbers are slowly increasing because of layoffs or people encountering food insecurity and trouble paying the bills.
Huckabay says they are always supportive of donations from those who can still give during this difficult period.
“The best thing that people can do is financial donations because that helps us to be able to purchase the types of foods that we need.”
He notes canned goods and non-perishable food items will also be accepted.

Huckabay adds if you are finding it difficult in this time do not hesitate to reach out to the Food Bank so they can can help you with some extra food if needed.
You can call every Monday, Wednesday or Friday between 9:00 am-11:30 am to ask for a hamper.
