With positive modelling numbers from public health officials released today some equally encouraging words are coming from Ontario’s Premier.
Premier Doug Ford says Ontario has avoided the devastation we witnessed in other countries. He says we are in a better position today than we were several weeks ago.
A framework has been created by the province looking at how we can slowly return to the way things once were prior to the pandemic.
Ford says the framework will have strict guidelines and will take into consideration the latest COVID-19 numbers.
The Premier says he understands people are anxious to get back to their normal lives but notes it may take some time.
Health Minister Christine Elliott says the province has avoided a significant surge of coronavirus cases and they are now trending towards a best-case scenario rather than a worst-case one.
Elliott thanked the public’s help in keeping the number of cases down due to their hygiene, staying at home and physical distancing efforts.
The Health Minister encouraged everyone to keep up their efforts since Ontario hasn’t arrived at the end of the pandemic just yet.
