Health officials are confirming five positive cases of COVID-19 at the Lac Des Iles Mine, about 85-kilometres north of Thunder Bay.
Three of the cases involve men in their 50’s, 30’s and 20’s, all from Thunder Bay or the surrounding area.
They are now in self-isolation.
As a result, the mine has shut down operations, leaving only temporary care and maintenance workers on site.
All other employees have left the property with an order to self-isolate for 14 days.
