A reminder for the long weekend that the Restricted Fire Zone is still in effect for all of Ontario.
Chris Marchand from the Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry says the move is to ensure emergency personnel won’t be pre-occupied by forest fires and can focus on helping the fight against COVID-19.
Marchand also says propane and portable gas stoves can still be used for warmth, but they still must be used with caution.
He also says the restricted fire zone will remain in place until further notice.
