Premier Doug Ford isn’t mincing words when it comes to COVID-19 testing.
Ontario is dead last among all provinces when it comes to the number of people tested for the virus.
Ford says enough is enough, he wants to see immediate action.
“Common sense. The more people you test, the better the numbers are going to be. It’s unacceptable. There’s no more excuses why we are testing roughly 3,000 a day. We need to see 13,000 people tested every single day moving forward.”
Ford says he’s had talks with the head of the Ontario Public Health Agency and feels the organization is up to the task of increasing daily testing.
He adds “We are going to move forward on a rapid fashion to make sure every single person possible can get tested and we need to start making sure that we test the front-line health care workers, test the long term care as a priority, that’s where we are seeing it spread the fastest.”
Ford stresses we have reached a critical point in the health care crisis.
