The Ontario Health Workforce Matching Portal has been a huge success in its first full day of operation.
Premier Doug Ford says as of Wednesday morning, they had 8,000 individuals sign-up, with 1,000 people matched with potential jobs.
The online tool matches skilled frontline workers with hospitals, clinics and COVID-19 assessment centres.
He says new recruits will be deployed throughout Ontario as soon as possible, filling critical vacancies.
Ford has stated “Whether you’re retired or in training, we can’t afford to have people with professional health care skills who want to help sitting on the sidelines during this crisis.”
