Just how Ontario is doing in the COVID-19 pandemic is a bit of a moving target according to the province’s top doctor.
Chief Medical Officer of Health, Dr. David Williams says it’s too soon to say if we are making headway with most of our international travellers already home.
Dr. Williams notes there is more of a focus now on localized transmission.
Dr. Williams suggests they are studying when they may be able to roll back some of their physical distancing rules, but stresses if they do it too soon the virus may escalate quickly again.
He says it’s important right now to remain vigilant and follow all rules and regulations.
Meantime, it appears there is still some confusion as to what you should do if you suspect you have symptoms of the coronavirus.
Dr. David Williams suggests reaching out to your family doctor via technology or contact Telehealth.
He notes you can also take the provincial self-assessment tool.
Dr. Williams says they have seen a decrease in calls to Telehealth since family doctors are equipped with technology to reach out to patients.
