Mental health programs in Dryden are getting a financial boost thanks to a volunteer led event.
Tom Riley and David Raine organized the December Festival of Lights and they have made a significant donation to the Canadian Mental Health Association.
Riley says “That cemetery looked awesome! This town should be really proud of themselves. They really out did themselves.”
He notes “The money stays local and that was our goal. To keep the money in-town to benefit the citizens of Dryden.”
Local CMHA Geriatric Mental Health Lead Bonnie Tourond says the money will support three specific programs.
She says that includes peer-support, services for older adults and Geriatric programming.
Tourond says she’s grateful for the donation noting funding is always tight.
