There’s financial help now available to manufacturing companies in the province who want to help produce much needed COVID-19 supplies.
Minister of Economic Development Vic Fedeli says they will be providing $50-million in funding for the most viable, innovative proposals.
“This will be available to companies and organizations across the entire province. It’s designed to provide immediate resources to these companies so they can begin the work of re-tooling or building capacity quickly and efficiently.”
Fedeli adds the fund will “Provide the greatest benefit to the people of Ontario, the fastest. If you or your business has an idea, supplies or the ability to innovate a solution to COVID-19, please log onto http://www.ontario.ca/ontariotogether
Companies will be required to manufacture medical supplies and equipment, including gowns, coveralls, masks, face shields, testing equipment and ventilators.
Meantime, with many health care agencies in the province crying out for much needed personal protective equipment, Confederation College has done its part to help out.
President Kathleen Lynch tweeted the school donated their Personal Protective Equipment to health care workers on the front line of the pandemic’s battle.
Students are not using them at this time as classes are now taking place online.
