Despite a government document suggesting COVID-19 measures will need to be in place until July, the Prime Minister says they are looking at all kinds of scenarios.
Justin Trudeau says our pandemic precautions may last longer, or they may take less time depending on how Canadians behave.
“How well we do this right now determines where our country will be in two weeks or in two months. It’s in our hands. It’s in your hands.”
He says our nation hasn’t seen this type of civic mobilization since the Second World War.
“We must fulfill our collectively responsibility to each other. Listening to public health rules is your duty. Staying home is your way to serve. So be smart about what you do, about the choices you make. That is how you will serve your country.”
Trudeau stresses if we don’t want to have the current self-isolation and physical distancing rules this Summer, than you should take immediate action to help stop the spread of the virus now.
