The City of Dryden stresses all core and emergency services are being maintained and will continue to operate during the COVID-19 crisis.
Chief Administrative Officer Roger Nesbitt says they have been proactive to mitigate the spread of the virus with the closure of all non-essential facilities and programs.
The municipality has also declared a State of Emergency.
Council and staff are utilizing technology to conduct important meetings, the City is promoting working at home and cleaning has been ramped up at municipal facilities.
Nesbitt notes they continue to work with the Northwestern Health Unit, the Kenora District Services Board and the hospital to prepare for any potential impact of the coronavirus on public health.
He is emphasizing the importance of practicing social distancing and to self-isolate when its required.
Nesbitt adds it’s critical that residents follow public health and provincial directions to help prevent the spread of the virus.
Nesbitt is also acknowledging and thanking all emergency personnel, essential retailers, health care staff, municipal workers and service delivery staff for their hard work and dedication during this difficult period.
