Canada is strongly opposed to the United States placing members of the military at the Canadian border.
Deputy Prime Minister Chrystia Freeland told media that no official plan has been put in place and they are voicing their concerns.
“We have made that opposition very very clear to our American counterparts and we will continue to do so. At the end of the day, every country takes its own decisions but ours is an important and valued partnership and we are making very clear Canada’s position,” Freeland said.
The Prime Minister said in his address to media Thursday, that the two countries have the longest un-militarized border in the world and that it’s in both country’s interest to remain that way.
