Staff at the Dryden Regional Health Centre say they are prepared for whatever is coming in the COVID-19 pandemic.
Chief Executive Officer Doreen Armstrong-Ross admits the situation changes every day but stresses they remain vigilant.
“We have a room designated at the in-patient unit if we get a positive patient and we have two in the ER that we’ve designated. We have done about 10 tests and we’ve had no positive cases in Dryden at this time.”
Armstrong-Ross says they do have some outstanding results but the 7 results they have received have all come back negative.
She believes they may see more patients in the coming days.
“We are certainly, with all the travellers that have been away, expecting that will change in the next week.”
Armstrong-Ross says everything is running smoothly on the operational side of the hospital, stressing staff are doing an amazing job during the health crisis.
The hospital is basically shutdown to visitors, with the exception of essential guests and urgent care continues with careful screening.
Critical care, urgent physiotherapy and tele-medicine appointments continue at the DRHC.
