An update on cancellations and closures in the Municipality of Machin to protect residents and staff from COVID-19.
The Senior’s Bus is no longer running, but if anyone is in need of something you are asked to contact the Municipal office and arrangements will be made for it to be delivered to you.
The Municipal office is closed to the public but staff are there to take phone calls.
All town employees continue to work their regular scheduled shifts.
All moves are being made as a precautionary measure.
Mayor and Council are thanking local businesses for helping keep their community safe and in supply of all of their needs.
They stress the importance of safe distancing and increased hand washing and note they continue to monitor the situation.
Here is a list of other closures and/or disruptions
-The Municipality of Machin Recreation Centre will be closed with no rentals until further notice.
-The Woodland Arena is closed for the season.
-The Public Works Garage and the Vermilion Bay Water Plant will remain closed to the public.
-The Municipality of Machin Reading Room will be closed until further notice.
-The Waste Disposal Sites will be open with normal hours until further notice. The Dump Attendant will be limiting the number people in the dumps at any time and will also be screening people at the gate. The Dump Attendant has the right to refuse anyone who has traveled out of the country within the last 14 days.
