A Dryden physician has been able to gain national attention in the Sporting world.
Dr. Bruce Cook was selected to represent Canada internationally at the World Medical Football Championship in Argentina.
The one-week tournament is held each year in a different location and is associated with a Medical Sports and Health Symposium.
However, the 2020 event scheduled for September has been cancelled due to COVID-19 concerns.
Cook did made the cut after travelling to California earlier this year to try-out for the Canadian Medical Soccer team.
He started his soccer career in Dryden with the Eagles High School program for one year.
Cook then went on to play in University Men’s and Co-ed Intramural soccer at Laurentian, McMaster and Lakehead Universities.
He also participated in Men’s soccer in London, Thunder Bay and now Dryden.
Cook has coached house league and affiliate soccer for Dryden Youth Soccer over the past 8 years and is the head coach for the Eagles Boys team.
