One of the faces of the COVID virus crisis in Canada has been Thunder Bay’s, Patty Hajdu.
She has been receiving much praise for how she has handled herself over the last couple of months with one news-editorial calling her “a rock.”
The health minister admits it has been something she could not do without help from those behind the scenes in her ministry.
“Obviously I feel a great deal of responsibility to my country and I am working really hard every day. I have a phenomenal team of people around me both on the civil service side and on the political staffing side,” says Hajdu.
She, of course, is also the Liberal MP for Thunder Bay-Superior North and admits it has been hard to be away from the constituency and it will have to stay that way for some time yet.
She notes while her “opportunity to interact…face to face” is not as frequent, the 1-800 number is there to help with any needs her staff in Thunder Bay can take care of.
The Thunder Bay MP tells us she tries to keep up to date with how the COVID situation is affecting her riding.
She says her spouse Paul in Thunder Bay is also helping to support her “every single day.”
