The Mayor of Dryden says the City continues to keep a very close eye on the daily, if not hourly, changes involving COVID-19.
Greg Wilson says they have a great team in place to ensure they are providing a healthy and safe environment for staff as well as provide necessary services to the community.
Wilson says Fire Chief Rob Grimwood is their primary Community Emergency Management Coordinator and he’s been in touch constantly with Emergency Management Ontario.
The Emergency Control Group is working alongside Grimwood.
Wilson says Chief Administrative Officer Roger Nesbitt is the head of that Committee and is meeting daily with his key staff to keep up-to-date on the latest developments.
He stresses municipal staff will continue to provide essential services to residents and visitors while protecting the health and safety of workers and customers.
Wilson is thanking the public and businesses for doing their part in mitigating risks.
He offers the basic reminders:
-Frequent hand washing, staying home while sick and social distancing
-Cough and sneeze into your sleeve or tissue. Dispose of tissue immediately and wash your hands.
-Increase frequency of home and office cleaning (door dandles, keyboards, work and eating surfaces, etc.)
-Avoid close contact with anyone who has a fever or cough
-It is recommended that anyone travelling outside of the community should self-isolate for 14 days upon return
