If students do return to the classroom they won’t have to worry about completing mandated standardized testing.
Ontario Education Minister Stephen Lecce says the provincial exams have been cancelled for the 2019-2020 due to the Coronavirus pandemic.
Lecce says the move was made in light of immense pressures students are facing in their academic careers as a result of COVID-19.
He says his ministry consulted with parents, students, educators and administrators for elementary and secondary students and decided that this was the best course of action.
Lecce stresses student graduation won’t be impacted.
