A Canadian airline headquartered in Toronto is doing what it can to bring stranded Canadian travellers abroad home, free of charge, due to the COVID-19 virus.
Sunwing has already brought thousands home, the total reaching over 33,000 people. The company says on its’ website by the time it is done, it estimates to have flown about 400 flights, at a cost of over $26-million.
Sunwing expects to have all of its customers home by Monday, March 23rd. But it’s also doing this for passengers not registered with Sunwing.
Company CEO Stephen Hunter says “It’s the Canadian thing to do.”
