The Dryden Regional Health Centre is taking some extra precautions with the rising concern of COVID-19.
According to a release, visitors are not permitted at the hospital effective immediately and will stay in place until further notice.
The release states that one care partner is welcome at all times and is designated by the patient.
There will be limited exceptions that may be permitted to end of life, paediatric, Medical Assistance in Dying or other patients with extenuating circumstances and will be determined by the Nursing Supervisor.
Any patients and visitors that experience respiratory-like illness including fever or a new or worsened cough, shortness of breath are advised to stay at home unless the symptoms are sever enough to warrant medical attention.
Further restrictions may come in to place as the situation develops.
The release also says although these precautions are being taken, the risk in our area remains low.
Dryden Regional Health Centre CEO Doreen Armstrong-Ross says they want to “limit the amount of people within the organization to leave us better prepared to care for all the patients we do have.”
