Dryden Police are ensuring the public is aware of a Social Insurance Number scam that is circulating the area.
Police say the scammers are threatening callers of police action, arrest or suspension of your SIN if you do not pay a fee.
Dryden Police also report that the phone numbers are coming from spoofed phone numbers including the 223 prefix.
Police remind residents that this is a scam and you should not give your personal information over the phone.
Dryden Police say if you do receive such a call, listen to what the caller is asking you and if it is a threat or request for money then it is a scam.
Police also hope residents share this information so more people are aware.
Other scam clues include asking for payment through Western Union or in the form of gift cards.
