One person is dead and several hospitalized after a series of assaults at the Arbour Jade Trailer Park on Monday.
Police say they responded at around 9:54pm after receiving calls of an assault involving a weapon in the area.
Dryden OPP along with the Dryden Police Service located two people with injuries who were transported to the hospital by EMS.
A male suspect was located and arrested shortly afterward.
Very early Tuesday, a third injured victim was found in the trailer park and was transported to the hospital shortly before 2:00am.
At about 7:30am, two more victims were found at a residence in the trailer park. One was pronounced dead while the other was transported to hospital with serious injuries.
OPP believe these incidents are related and the investigation continues under direction of the OPP Criminal Investigation Branch. Further charges are anticipated.
Police say 36-year-old Justin Desautels of Dryden has been charged with:
- Assault a Peace Officer s. 270 (1) (a)
- Resist Arrest s. 129(a)
- Assault Peace Officer – Cause Bodily Harm s. 267(b)
- Break, Enter and commit Robbery s.348 (1)(b) – two counts
- Attempt to Disarm a Police Officer s. 270.1(1)
- Attempt to Commit Murder s. 239(1) (b)
- Possession of a Schedule I Substance contrary to Section 4(1) of the Controlled Drugs and Substance Act (CDSA)
Desautels is currently in custody, pending a court appearance on March 9th.
