The federal Health Minister says she never told Canadians to stockpile supplies to deal with the spread of the coronavirus.
Patty Hajdu says she stands by her message to simply be prepared if you or a family member becomes sick and can’t leave home.
“Because it can happen for a variety of reasons that you are all of a sudden without power or that you may have a disruption in your life. So there are handy checklists on the public safety website that can help you determine what you need to prepare.”
Hajdu adds it’s a good thing that communities are testing for possible cases of COVID-19.
She adds there is no cause for concern right now.
