The Township of Ignace believes it’s in a position to grow and expand.
However, Chief Administrative Officer Marshalina Reader says in order to proceed they need support from the province.
“I believe that we’ve demonstrated the last two years that we know what it takes to move the community forward. That we’ve demonstrated that we are investment worthy, we are investment ready, and all of our funders have committed to us because of that demonstration.”
Reader says “That’s all we are asking for. Is some equity, in terms of funding and supporting our investments into our human capital, infrastructure and our communities well-being, including youth retention.”
Reader addressed government officials recently at a pre-budget meeting, the first such delegation for the municipality in years.
