A chance to witness one of the premier acts in Canada.
The Thunder Bay Symphony Orchestra is hosting a special concert at the Centre Friday at 7:30pm.
Ryan Graham was a guest on the CKDR Morning Show today (Thursday) and he says the performance includes a special surprise.
“They have gone all out. Maria Fuller is one of Canada’s premier musicians. She’s been playing with the Saskatoon Orchestra, a number of Orchestra’s in the States, she’s a two time Laureate winner.
Fuller is an internationally active performer as a conductor, pianist and trumpeter, and is also an acclaimed vocal coach, composer and arranger.
She will conduct such pieces as:
-Beethoven: Egmont Overture
-Schubert: Symphony No. 5
-Strauss: An der schonen blauen Donau
-Grieg: Peer Gynt Suite, Op. 46
-Marks and Simons: All of Me
-Hoagy Carmichael: Stardust
-James Horner: Mark of Zorro
-Kamen: Robin Hood, Prince of Thieves
-Elgar: Salut d’Amor
-Sylvestri: Avengers theme song.
Tickets are only $20 and are available at the door.
Proceeds support the Dryden Centre for the Performing Arts and Dryden High School’s music program.
Graham says the concert will specifically raise funds to sound equipment upgrades at the Centre.
