Our beloved Nikki was born and raised in Sioux Lookout, passed away in Doha, Qatar on November 22, 2019, and on February 21, 2020 would have celebrated her 35th birthday. Although we never again will hear her voice nor see her beautiful face, we celebrate the amazing woman and loving soul who brought so much happiness to our lives.
After leaving Sioux Lookout for school and work in Thunder Bay, Nikki’s next great adventure was her move to Doha in 2010. For almost a decade she immersed herself in the culture of her new home, made countless friends from around the world, and indulged her passion for travel. Nikki made friends easily and was loved by so many who she met and worked with along the way. She was a humourous and adventurous young woman whose compassion and capacity for love and friendship knew no bounds.
Nikki leaves behind many who love her deeply and will miss her forever: her mother Julie McMahon (Mel Smith), father Larry, brother Tony (Amy), nephews and niece Brandon, Emory, Aliyah and Zachary, her grandfather Ernie Spyrka, as well as aunts, cousins and many extended family.
She was predeceased by her grandparents Doris and Jack Reek, grandmother Margaret Spyrka and uncle Doug Spyrka. We know that they have wrapped her in their love while those of us left behind wait to see her again. She will live in our hearts forever.
