An OPP officer was injured and three people have been charged after a chase on Highway 17 on Thursday.
Thunder Bay OPP alerted Ignace and Dryden that several people involved in a series of thefts were believed to be heading West on the TransCanada.
Ignace and Dryden OPP intercepted the first vehicle which stopped and then fled. Other officers used a ‘spike belt’ to stop the vehicle in Corman Township, where the driver was arrested.
The second vehicle, a truck, was intercepted in Skey Township where the driver tried to avoid a spike belt and hit an OPP cruiser, then a tractor trailer before landing in the ditch.
Two suspects fled but were quickly apprehended.
One officer was injured and treated at Dryden Hospital for minor injuries.
Three people face charges ranging from Possession of Property obtained by crime over $5,000, Driving While Under Suspension, Operating while Impaired, and Failure to Comply with Release Order.
Tess Sterling (28), Cyle VENBYNEN (27) both from London and Dawn JANMAN (29) from Goderich are in custody pending a court appearance on the 18th.
