From the surf and sand to the ice in Dryden, Parker James is settling into his new home very well.
The Ice Dogs defenceman is playing in his first year in the Superior International Hockey League.
The 18-year-old from Long Beach, California was recently featured in the national edition of Shaw Spotlight.
James says it was an honour to be showcased by producer Tommy Johnson, noting there are other players from the States that are in northwestern Ontario for the first time.
He notes the biggest adjustment moving north was switching from his shorts or even bathing suit to long pants and a heavy jacket when walking to the rink.
However, James stresses his time in Dryden has been amazing
James has 2-goals and 6-assists in 38-games with Dryden GM this season.
Here is the complete feature on Parker James on Shaw Spotlight.
