Officials state the virus is not posing a threat, noting the most important risk factor is travel to an affected area.
The Health Unit says its working closely with community partners to monitor the situation and prepare for the time when coronavirus might show up in our area.
Manager of Infectious Disease Donna Stanley says you can be extra vigilant by washing your hands, avoid touching your face and stay home if you are feeling under the weather.
The death toll in the hardest hit region in China is now at 908, with over a reported 40,171 cases on the mainland.
