Statistics Canada has gathered prices on cannabis between legal and illegal variations and the price gaps between the two.
The lowest price per gram for illegal cannabis was in New Brunswick at $4.90.
The province also had the dubious distinction of having the highest price per gram for legal cannabis at $11.36.
Nationwide, Quebec had the lowest legal prices while Ontario had the highest illegal prices.
$1.5 billion was spent on cannabis during the third quarter of 2019 and most purchases were made illegally.
